The Dead Mouse

A mouse, busy with winter preparations, has died in our attic. Directly above our bedroom closet. He smells more each day.

A cursory look in the attic was fruitless...his little corpse remained illusive. So we wait.

I put an aromatherapy diffuser in the closet and learned that floral-based oils are not a good choice for decay coverup. The sweet floral undertones combined with the stench of death are shockingly creepy. I switched to a cedar and citrus combination that more or less disguises the smell with a clean, outdoorsy scent. Better. Less funereal.
