I'm sorry, but I'd call the EPA if I found this thing growing in my garden.
Galeuse D'Eysines is a 10 to 15 pound heirloom pumpkin with sweet, smooth, edible flesh. But to get to that sweet, smooth, edible flesh, you have to get past the lumpy, scarred, salmon-colored skin.
I've never been that big a fan of the warty gourds. Years ago, I visited some friends in Litchfield, Connecticut during pumpkin season. Visiting a local farmer's market, I voiced my strong anti-warty gourd feelings, only to later discover a great big bowl full of them, front and center on their dining room table. So bad feelings all around concerning novelty gourds.
